Dinner Amongst Adults
Tonight I went to dinner with three former co-workers. It was great to see them and catch up with them. We went to Nona Rosa's in downtown Bellingham and the food was great. It's so great to hear how everyone is doing and what they are up to now. I do feel a little boring though as all I've really been up to is raising kids. Of course it's not boring for me but I certainly don't have the great stories to share of vacations, concerts and other things. Everyone was talking about all the great places to eat in Bellingham and I hadn't even heard of them. Having kids has really taken me out of the loop of things that aren't related to diapers and tantrums. I do think I need to get out more often because a sweet little voicemail from Madison on my way home made me want to rush home and give her a goodnight kiss. It made me miss her and I think it made her miss me too. It's easy to take each other for granted if we don't get a chance to miss each other. I even stopped at Fred Meyer to get her a little necklace she has been eyeing for months now, she checks on it every time we are in there to make sure it's still there. Sometimes I miss having a job but I wouldn't trade raising my kids for anything. These early years go by so fast and you never get them back. As much work as it is to be a stay at home mom it's so worth it. I'll just have to catch up with my working friends more often and live vicariously through them!
