I Like To Eat Apples!

We made our first trip to Apple Creek Orchards today for some yummy apples. We met some friends there and had a great time. We picked a little over a bucket and will probably go through it fast and go again soon. It's really close to our house and a fun way to spend an hour or two so we like to go a few times during the season. The girls were a bit distracted with their friends so they weren't really into the actual picking but had a great time anyway. They have more animals roaming around than they did last year and Kennedy really loved that. They had some African Guinea Hens which are excellent bug eaters and they don't need to feed them, they just eat whatever is around as well as the bugs. They were all very friendly and Kennedy was able to go right up to them.

We managed to get all but one of the kids in the picture. Lisa led a game of Simon Says in order to keep them all lined up for pictures and this is them making a monster face and growling : )

Mmmmm!

We have a picture of the girls every year in this chair, it's amazing to see them grow from year to year in pictures. We had fun looking back at last years pictures last night.

The girls each got a little pumpkin. Madison has already decorated hers since we've been home and now we'll be vacuuming glitter out of the carpet for a while : ) Fun time at Apple Creek Orchards as always!!!

Before we went there we went to the first church service Christ The King Community Church held in Ferndale. It was pretty overwhelming to see the turn out that packed the auditorium at Horizon Middle School. Today was the soft opening and next weekend is the grand opening. Pastor Grant was there today but from now we will be having live music and announcements and watch Pastor Grant's sermon via a video broadcast recorded the evening before. The main church is so big that we end up watching the jumbo-tron when we attend anyway so it will be nice to be in a smaller community of people and actually get to know some people. If anyone would like to know more about CTK Ferndale let me know. I think it's going to be a great thing for the Ferndale community. www.ctkferndale.com

Eric and I went out on a date night last night. It was a late celebration of our anniversary. We saw Love Happens and Lisa watched the girls. It was fun but it still feels very unnatural to go somewhere together without the kids. We should probably do it more often.

Tonight I'm going to take Kennedy on a little date and I can't wait. I haven't taken just Kennedy out somewhere near often enough and I'm so looking forward to it. I'm not sure where we will go, maybe Hovander Park or something but it will be fun to spend time with my little munchkin!

I think that's about it for now. Still no news on the job front but we keep praying something will happen soon. I know there are people out there praying for us too and we really appreciate it. Take care and enjoy what's left of this last few days of summer! Fall begins officially on Tuesday.
