Still no camera! Bummer. We are going apple picking tomorrow and I won't be able to take pictures. I suppose I can take a few on my phone but they aren't that great. Oh well, will be just as fun without the camera.
Thanks Kim for telling me about the blog books. They are SO cool. I downloaded my blog just to see how many pages it would be and the basic price was over $120.00 for my current blog before shipping, etc. It's way too much money right now but it's a viable option for later if I can't come up with something else. My blog has a lot of ramblings that don't seem worthy of a beautifully bound book but it's all part of a day in the life around here.
Girls weekend is getting close. I looked at my class syllabus today just to realize I have a lab exam on the Monday following girls weekend and a module exam the Tuesday following girls weekend. It will still be so fun but maybe not as "exciting" as I had planned.
Eric took the girls this morning to Home Depot. The first Saturday of every month they have a kids workshop for free. The girls got wooden firehouse piggy bank kits to make (Eric said Madison was so cute hammering in her nails), bike helmets (from the firefighters who were there), pins and the MOST adorable orange aprons similar to what they wear there. I wish I could post a picture. He said they all had so much fun! This summer I have really been getting into finding all the free and cheap things to do with the kids in this area. There always seems to be something great going on. It also gives Eric a fun thing to go and do with the kids on the weekend while I do homework. We've enjoyed the great festivals this summer, the fun things at Hovander for their Storybook in the Garden events, Michaels craft events that are sometimes free and sometimes inexpensive. Next weekend they are decorating pumpkins (decorative ones, not real ones). You have to buy the pumpkins ($7.00 each) but get to use their supplies. Later in the month they are going to do a t-shirt decorating event for Halloween, I got the girls' shirts there yesterday for $2.99 each but they actually go on sale for $2.50 next week so it's a great craft, fun morning and something they get to keep and be proud of for $5.00 (for 2 kids anyway). Next weekend there is also an event at Hovander and the kids get to pick pumpkins! Super fun stuff!
We are getting excited for Halloween around here. The girls both got a dress up outfit for their birthday that will double as their Halloween costume. Madison will be Cinderella and Kennedy will be a fairy princess. We haven't solidified our plans for this year but we think we will forgo the mall this time around. It's always so packed, loud, they run out of candy early and the candy stinks. I like the idea of having a safe and dry place to go but if the weather is good we'll probably head for Fairhaven like we do every year and then come home to go around the neighborhood and hand out candy. Fun, fun!
Okay, I had better go check on dinner. The crock-pot is becoming my best friend lately. Oh, I forgot to mention my mother-in-law is coming for a visit on Thursday (which also happens to be Eric's birthday). The girls are excited to have some company and get some grandma attention. I will be pretty scarce that weekend as I have two tests the following week but at least I won't feel as guilty being away from my kids if they have grandma to play with.
