The First Snow

The first snow fall of the year was very exciting around our house. Eric and I watched it start coming down after the girls went to bed and by the time they woke up the ground was covered in white and begging to be played in. Along with the snow came lots of strong winds so most of what fell blew away but that didn't stop the girls.

I thought we were set for snow gear but Kennedy grew much more than I realized and her snow boots and snow pants didn't fit her. Madison's boots were also getting too small for her. We made due for the morning but I had a mission to find some proper gear before the day was over (and before everyone sold out).

Just the day before this snow fall Eric was in the yard all day trimming all the plants, digging out the garden remains, mowing the grass, putting away all the outside toys and taking down the cover and accessories on the play structure. Talk about good timing!

The girls had so much fun out there. Poor Kennedy must have been freezing with only rubber boots and no snow pants.

If she was cold she sure didn't let it bother her.

Madison wearing the hat and scarf I made her last year.

Wow, she's beautiful but seriously needs a haircut. She absolutely refuses.

"Snow"

Wheee!

I might be getting a little cold now Mom.

Ready to come inside.

This is better. Later in the day we had the proper gear. Madison's boots went to Kennedy and she got a new pair of snow pants.

There is just one problem...the driveway is a sheet of ice and they can't walk up or down it without falling. The figured out that they can crawl instead.

Madison was excited to get some new boots.

They were having so much fun they forgot to play with their new sleds until the next day.

This is fun!

There is nothing like watching your kids as they see the first snow fall of the season.
