My surgery has been scheduled. On November 10th I will get my tonsillectomy. I will have to spend one night at Skagit Valley Hospital. Yep, I have to have it there because my insurance doesn't cover ANY ENTs in Whatcom County. I have had to drive down there to see my ENT several times and I'll have to have my surgery down there. I have one more appointment for a pre-op and then it will be time to finally get these tonsills out. I'm such a surgery scardey cat. I have been having anxiety about it since I knew they needed removed but now that it's on the calendar I'm really panicking. I do, also, keep thinking how nice it will be to get them out of there and be able to breath again. They really are a nuisance. I'm not having them removed because they are a nuisance though, they are a germ sponge and I just hope I can avoid getting sick before the surgery. My dad and his wife are planning to come and help with the kids while I recovery so Eric doesn't have to miss more than a day or two of work.
The timing did work out nicely. It will be after Halloween and my dentist appointment among other things that I don't want to miss and give me a couple of weeks to recover before Thanksgiving. Despite not looking forward to it things seem to be lining up nicely.

...might ask them about a medication to calm your nerves in the day or days just before the surgery. Heck, they give Valium for guys getting a vasectomy--I'd say you're just as anxious about this surgery if not more!
