First Outing

I managed to make it out for my first outing this evening. I read today on the internet how important it was to get up and moving as not to form blood clots so I freaked a little since I really haven't been out of bed except to use the bathroom and a rare shower/bath since my surgery.
I had to rest after my shower but eventually felt like trying. We needed a couple of things so I had Eric take me to Haggen (without the kids...that would have been too hard). I walked very slowly and got tired quickly. My legs felt like jello and I eventually had to go sit down and wait for Eric to pay, I thought I would fall down.
It was good though, I felt sort of human again. Seeing all of the food right at dinnertime on a totally empty stomach and at the end of the time period of taking my medication was not the best planning but I know better now. I'll try again soon and plan slightly better. I would have just gone for a little walk outside but had been coughing entirely too much today and didn't want the cold air to send me into a coughing frenzy.
So, I would say it was a success. I got out, got rid of a little cabin fever, got some fresh air and realized there is life happening outside of these four walls.
