All Natural Laundry Detergent

LAUNDRY:

Dr. Bronner's Castile Bar Soap in Lavender
Borax
Arm & Hammer Washing Soda

Grate 1 cup of the bar soap and mix with 1/2 cup Borax and 1/2 cup Washing soda. Use 1 tablespoon as your laundry detergent for a normal wash load and 2 tablespoons for more soiled loads. Add 1/2 cup vinegar to wash or rinse cycle as a natural fabric softener to avoid using dryer sheets.

Other Eco-Friendly Laundry Tips:

Whites – Add half a cup of lemon juice or add a couple of scoops of Oxo Brite Non-Chlorine Bleach
Choose shortest cycle and wash time possible. Don’t overload.
¼ cup of baking soda works as a fabric softener
¼ cup of vinegar to reduce static cling. In either case, add during the wash cyle if you are using liquid laundry detergent, and during the rinse cyle if you are using a powder.
Natural Bleach: ¼ cup washing soda or borax to wash load.
Natural Whitener: 1 cup fresh lemon juice, Half-filled bucket of water, Add lemon juice to water and soak clothes overnight.
All-Purpose Stain Remover:
Works well on blood, chocolate, coffee, mildew, mud and urine
¼ cup borax
2 cups cold water
Soaking pail
Mix the borax and cold water together and soak stained clothing. Wash as usual.
