I have just finished reading New Moon and finally come up for breath. Since Friday afternoon I have read Twilight followed by New Moon, both between 550-600 pages each. This is very unlike me, I'm not much of a reader and am incredibly slow at it. I remember reading time in school and how I was always the last one to turn my page when instructed to read something, I also was so preoccupied with the fact that everyone was faster than me that I tried to rush through not understanding anything I had just read. Something about these books have offered me a welcome escape the past few days and I have been in a sort of frenzy (pun intended if you have read the books) to devour each one. I could go on and on about these books, I absolutely love them and can't wait to get my hands on the next one but I'll refrain because I think I'm one of the last people who have not read them.
Moving on......
We had a guy come out and start building the retaining wall with Eric yesterday. They got about halfway done. I wasn't exactly happy about some aspects of it but not because the guy did anything wrong, because there was a misunderstanding. Nevertheless he will be back tomorrow to finish and it will be done. Being done at this point seems like more of a relief than anything else so I'm choosing to not think too much about it.
Tomorrow starts our first week with no preschool. It will be a short week with the holiday today and a visit from my mother in law at the end of the week. She will probably stay until Sunday morning, possibly Monday morning.
Madison has been successfully sleeping in her bed alone for the past several nights. Eric's chair was outside her bedroom last night and she is doing amazingly well. I'm so proud of her and I can tell she is proud of herself too which is so amazing to watch.
My to-do list seems to be haunting me with so many more things being added to it. I'm losing some momentum for some reason and can't seem to gain any energy. Hopefully the completion of the wall and getting the yard "play" ready will help along with some continued nice weather.
Hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day. I'm very thankful to all the people who have sacrificed the unthinkable to give me the insignificant rights to worry about my never ending to-do list and get lost in a book. It's far too easy to forget about the price so many have paid for the rest of us.
