Job News

Eric got a job today with X-Fire. It's good news but........nothing will really change except that he will go off unemployment and be working now. The pay is barely above the maximum unemployment benefit that he was getting. This company does lightweight plastic pipe in residential buildings instead of the steel pipe he normally works with in commercial buildings. The work is much easier hence the significant decrease in pay. I'm not complaining and am really thankful but I think we were both secretly (or not so secretly) hoping for more. It's difficult to go backwards in any situation especially your career but we know we are not the only family going through hard times and we are blessed with more than so many other people have so we'll make it work and be thankful.
He's still holding out hope (as am I) that he will be able to get back on with his old company this fall or as soon as work picks up enough to hire someone else.
Today the girls and I met some friends at Elizabeth Park. We had actually never been there before and thought it was a great park. I loved all the trees that would cool it off on a hot summer day. The weather today was perfect and all the kids did great and had fun!
We were planning to have a garage sale this weekend but with Eric starting work tomorrow I doubt that will happen now. There is just too much to do to get ready for it and not enough time now. We'll have to have on in September, possibly Labor Day weekend or on the 19th. I'm bummed to put this off but I don't think we can pull it together on time, we would have been pushing it even with him now working.
We are really looking forward to our camping trip the following weekend at Birch Bay. Hope the weather holds up!
That's about it for now. Hope you are all enjoying your week!
