Rasar State Park

I didn't get very many of these moments but I enjoyed the ones I did get. This was our first official camping weekend. The other two times we went camping this summer we only camped for one night. Wow, camping is lots of work and I need to plan better next time. We're learning lots every time we go. We have got to get more organized so I will do that before we go next summer. I didn't want to put too much time, energy or money into it this year until we decided if it was something we were really going to like. I didn't realize how much fun we would have. Rasar State Park is such a nice place, much nicer than Birch Bay was. My only problem was being too far from the bathroom. It was a long walk at 4:12 a.m. this morning : ) There is basically just the one main bathroom so we will get a place closer next year, we definitely want to go back to this place every year. It's so beautiful and the girls had so much fun on the beach and at the day use area.

Crisis over the Croc!

If you look closely in this picture to the left of Eric (to his right) you will see something floating in the river. Kennedy was playing with my Crocs and none of us noticed until shortly after this picture was taken that one was starting to float down the river. Several feet before that big log there was a serious drop and you couldn't see the bottom at all. Eric was trying to get it with a stick but he couldn't reach and didn't want to jump in (yep, he was scared). Anyway, Madison started crying and was so upset. She was terrified both for my shoe and for Eric. Eric managed to get my shoe down the shore a little ways but he wasn't about to jump in after it. It was a pretty upsetting ordeal and we left right afterwards per her request. Poor thing, I felt so bad for her but I'm glad I got my shoe back. Ahhh, memories!
