Christmas Day 2009

What a day! Today was Christmas and we had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of baby Jesus. We opened gifts first thing this morning. We cut WAY back this year but it still seemed like tons of stuff by the time you add in all of the relatives presents. They got lots of great thing and had the best time. Above is Kennedy with one of her stocking stuffers (Elmo band aids). It was hard to capture any good pictures with things being so crazy this morning.

Madison with her Santa gifts. They each got a brand new sleeping bag from the jolly ole' guy and they loved them. They are all set for our camping adventures next summer.

Madison and her new laptop. She loves it! I think this is her favorite gift. Her Grandpa and Grandma got this for her.

Kennedy opening one of her gifts from the grandparents.

She had lots of fun opening stuff but each girl wanted desperately to play with whatever the OTHER sister was opening.

The beginning of the destruction.

The girls are at such a fun age this year. It was so much fun watching them open stuff and watching how much fun they were having. What was even more fun was watching them thoroughly enjoy when someone was opening one of their presents. We made a special event of having each of them pick out a special gift for their sister and us and they could not have been prouder when we all opened the special gifts they got us. It's choking me up just thinking about it.

Some of Madison's goodies.

More goodies amongst all the mess.

Is that it?

My first favorite gift. Madison picked these out all by herself (ha) and I wore them proudly all day. She was so proud of how "cozy" they would be for my feet. I love that girl so much!

My other favorite gift. Madison made this at preschool and it was wrapped and sitting under the tree for the past couple of weeks. She was so proud for us to open it.
Christmas Day is coming to an end but may we all have some of the Christmas spirit all year long. There were so many hugs and kisses in this house today and so many mentions of Jesus and how thankful we are to Him for His ultimate sacrifice. May we never forget the gift He gave us and remember the love we feel at this time of year.
