I have finished my first week of clinicals. I only have two shifts left next week and I will be done. Each day has continued to get better and I'm really enjoying my classmates and the residents. It's amazing the difference a few days can make in the competency level of all of us. I have not changed my mind about never wanting to work in a nursing home though although my hat is off to those that choose to.
I was fairly worthless yesterday because I was so tired from this past week. I took Madison to our gardening class in the morning where we learned a lot about bugs while Eric and Kennedy played at the playground and looked at the animals. We made a ladybug craft and had a lot of fun. After that we stopped at a couple of garage sales and got my oil changed. There has been a clicking noise in my car for several weeks now and I was hoping the oil change would fix it but no such luck. I'm just waiting for something bad to happen to the car but we'll deal with that when it comes I suppose.
When we got home I couldn't keep my eyes open and took a nap. It felt so good but I was wide awake last night until nearly 2:00 a.m. because of it. I have some things to do this morning and have been at The Woods trying to get through them but am blogging instead. Eric and the girls will pick me up soon and we'll spend the afternoon together at home. Tomorrow Madison has a vaccination appointment and I'm hoping it goes as well as last time. She's becoming a pro at this since we go in every couple of months for one. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to take Madison to see Toy Story 2 with some friends, it should be lots of fun. I've got clinicals and finals Tues.-Thurs. and then it will be the 4th of July weekend. We've got a party to go to and possibly a BBQ at our house with some friends. The following weekend is camping with friends followed by a trip to Oregon and then a VBS for Madison. That pretty much covers July and then August comes along with lots more fun activities. I am so looking forward to it all.
Eric continues to make contacts and continues to be told he will be hired as soon as there is enough work. It sounds like there might be, at least, a few temporary jobs coming his way but it all depends on jobs going through and bids being accepted, etc. so we'll see. It has been nice having him home to cover with the kids while I am in school but hopefully something comes up soon, even if just temporary. The girls need a little bit of balance with me home and something resembling their normal life
