Phew...for now

Both tests are done and both were PASSED (I got my results today even though I thought I wouldn't)!!! Apparently you are not allowed to get an actual score so there is no way of knowing what my actual grades were. Ah, what a GIGANTIC relief. Although, as I was walking out, my partner told me that there are 12 hours of continuing education credits required every year. I also realized this certification is only good for 2 years. Hmmm, I won't be starting school at WCC anytime sooner than Sept. of 2012 so I've just screwed myself. I'm not exactly sure what the date of the certification will be...whether it will be today's date or the date the Department of Health gets around to processing it but I might have just taken the test a few weeks earlier than I should have in order to not to have to re-take it again in two years just before starting the nursing program at WCC. Argh! I'm not really sure of any of those details. I have purposely not gone to WCC to talk to anyone about the program (or to the info session) yet. I'll do it at some point this year as I'm working through the last few classes and I'll find out then.
In the meantime I am so relieved that is over!!!!
Side Note: Why on earth anyone would go through all of this to make less than $10.00 an hour is beside me. More power to people who really want to do this work, thank goodness they are out there but the money that has been spent on the class, books, test fee, certification application, scrubs, shoes, transfer belt, CPR kit, etc. by people who have to go through this is crazy. It would take forever just to make enough to pay for all of that and then you are looking at re-certifying every year, paying every two years to re-take the test and paying for the 12 continuing education credits each year. I'm baffled by it all.

Yay so glad you passed and are done. Sad that the class was such a drag. the one I took 15 years ago in Tx was so much fun...
