Confession of the Day: I went to Wal-Mart. Yeah, I did it AND I said it!
For no particular reason...just felt like buying cheap Kleenex and looking for more cheap crap!
Apparently my funky mood is not over!
I know Wal-mart does many evil things but I do have to say they also employ MANY people that would not have otherwise been employed. My friend works at Wal-mart. He is in a wheelchair and his job is so important to him. He had to take some time off for a surgery and he could not wait to get back to work. He wants to be a contributing member of society and Wal-mart allows this. There are not a lot of government programs anymore to employ people with disabilities so stores like Wal-mart are the only option. So if I need to go to Wal-mart which I only do about 2 times a year I don't feel guilty. I say hi to my friend and look at the smile on his face as he greets people and I don't feel guilty...and neither should you. We both make a huge effort to shop local, buy fair trade and organic. Sometimes you can't do that and shopping at a place that employs those with special is not a bad thing... :)
