Candy negotiations started instantly. I couldn't imagine weeks upon weeks of the girls begging for candy so I presented them with the same opportunity they had last year. A local dentist offers a candy buy back program. I am so in love with this program, she buys the candy back for $1.00 a pound, gives the kids several freebies AND sends all the candy overseas to the troops. This is such a win-win program and offers enough incentive to entice the kids to choose it on their own. They love eating out so the dinner at Red Robin was enough to get them on board. Above they are getting their candy weighed.
Kennedy is dumping her candy in the box after it's weighed and getting a bracelet from the service man.
Collecting their money. After choosing their favorite pieces (as well as Mom and Dad picking a few) they had well over 4 lbs. each.
They got their free dinner coupon, a coloring book, bracelet, a toothbrush, toothpaste and a really huge apple from Bellewoods.
After they collected their goodies we went out to eat at Red Robin using their coupons. The candy was gone, they had fun new prizes and we had a really fun afternoon going there and going out to dinner. I hope this dentist does this every year and I hope my kids will continue to want to participate.
