I have some fun camping pictures that I need to load and post to my blog but I've been too tired and too hot. Yes, summer is finally here....but it's hot. I love summer but the heat zaps me. Today we went to a birthday party that was so fun but I knew I would feel obligated to post to my blog if I took pictures so I didn't...pathetic, I know.
Anyway, the party today was for a little girl Kennedy goes to preschool with. This makes me so happy. Kennedy has never really had a chance to make her own friends because she is always playing with Madison's friends or their younger siblings (which are her friends but you know what I mean). She was SO happy today being at a party for one of her little girlfriends and it was so much fun to watch. I don't think there is anything much cuter than several 3 and 4 year old girls running the show.
I must also say that I have been seriously debating my feelings about public school (again....what's new!). I seem to always be in an inner struggle with this issue given the year we had. I am really hopeful for next year and better equipped to make sure we get a good teacher/student fit. The parents of the little girl today were both teachers at a public school (one of them a teacher at Madison's school) and I can't say enough nice things about them. They restored my faith in public school and reminded me it really is SO much about the teacher and not that it is "public school". There are so many great, wonderful, devoted teachers out there in public school and some years there might not be the best fit but that doesn't mean public school is bad. Yes, there are plenty of "bad" things about it but there really are so many great things too. I'm too tired to list the pluses and minuses as I see them but, believe me, I have listed them in my head more times than I would like to count this past year.
So, one of these days I will get to posting those camping pictures (who else uses blogger, is it me or is it seriously time consuming to load pictures...ugh).
Tomorrow is the 2nd summer hike and I'm so excited to be taking the girls along with some friends to Point Whitehorn Marine Reserve, we've never been but can't wait!
Things coming up for the next couple of weeks include tennis lessons, VBS, swimming lessons, hikes, playdates, a birthday party, a girls camping weekend (yippee) and a few other things. Summer is here and we intend to make the most of it, hope you are all doing the same.

Yay for K making some of her own friends. how cute. very happy we have nice cool day today. Hope you have a fun hike. My parents took all the money they saved on public school and paid for me to have art classes, dance classes and eventually a horse. Which kept me out of trouble all through high school :)
I should have clarified...K can make friends anywhere. I just haven't initiated any playdates for just her....my bad!
I'm trying to give Madison plenty of enrichment opportunities. She'll be at an art camp this summer but there is really no art to speak of in school anymore (unless you count crayons and scissors). So much has been cut since I was in school.
