So, I've been trying to eat healthier. Breakfast is my biggest struggle because I don't particularly like to eat in the morning and I don't particularly like breakfast food. I have been enjoying some yogurt with strawberries/bananas and some ground flax seed but breakfast food quickly gets boring to me. If I don't eat breakfast I get so hungry by lunch that I make bad choices (go figure). I had some of those cool steel cut oatmeal frozen hockey puck things on my grocery list (see link above if you don't know what I'm talking about) but decided to try and make my own instead. I've got the steel cut oats cooking right now. At the very least it will give me another quick breakfast option that is nutritious. I'm trying to find some breakfast foods my kids might actually eat that have plenty of protein as well but they are so darn picky!
Anyway, I'll report on how my experiment turns out in case anyone is interested. I wish I had one of those cool airtight sealing contraptions but I'm too cheap.

hmmm I eat oatmeal every morning. Just the regular old rolled oat (not quick cook) but this looks really good. Will have to try cooking up a batch now that I know I could freeze the leftovers
