Today was flu shot day. We prepped Madison pretty well and I thought she was going to go without a problem until about 20 minutes before we left. She was really worried about it. She even pretended to be asleep in the car thinking I wouldn't wake her up to go get the shot. I promised her a treat afterwards to give her something to distract her and it worked but she was still worried. I felt really bad for her when she actually got the shot because she really panicked and tried to push the nurses' hands away and everything. She was screaming and Kennedy started crying because her sister was. Anyway, she got her shot and a cool bandaid and was very proud of herself as was I. Kennedy was next and barely cried for 3 seconds and that was that.
Of course Madison picked a vanilla ice cream cone from DQ for her treat and ate every last drop without spilling any, it's much to valuable to her to waste a drip. She loves ice cream!
After that we went and got my flu shot. Even I get a little nervous just before so I can hardly blame a kid for worrying about it.
Oh, if you are wondering why we went with the flu shot instead of the flu mist it's because the mist is a live virus and they can potentially get the flu from it.
