So Far, So Good.....

Well, I was determined not to have a repeat of yesterday so I tried some new things today. I knew we were going to be staying home all day which always makes our day harder. There was an episode first thing this morning where I lost it with Madison right off the bat for slamming the fridge door on her sister so I knew I had to do something to prevent the entire day from following suit. I know I am speaking prematurely as it's only 10:25 a.m. and there is a lot of day left but so far the morning has gone better. First, I had a cup of caffeinated coffee!!!! What a difference that made. Not the best thing in the world but it got me through the initial breakfast stuff. Secondly, we turned the TV OFF!!! There is entirely too much TV on around here. It seems like a distraction but I think it makes the day harder because Madison gets bored and acts out looking for attention. I feel bad about the amount of TV that is on. I didn't even allow Madison to watch TV until she was almost two years old but it's become a bad habit that needs broken. Anyway, the TV went off when breakfast hit the table and hasn't been on since. It's taken a little more effort on my part but it's been quite pleasant. The girls are both coloring at the table with markers, much more productive than staring at the TV (they are washable by the way). Anyway, I may be jinxing myself for saying our day is going okay so early in the morning but I'm trying and we'll see what happens.
Hope you all have a good day!
