My Garden

Sorry to start with the grossest picture : ) This is my second year trying to grow a garden. It's been a huge learning curve and I still don't know much about it but think it's pretty amazing when I put this tiny little seed in the ground and get a big fruit-bearing plant out of it. Some of my stuff is doing great and some isn't. I planted lots of things that never came up. The birds were camping out in my beds for days after I planted eating my seeds. I did not have one onion come up at all (including sweet onions, scallions and leeks). There were a few other things that never made their debut because of the birds either. My zucchini's are doing great but they are getting a bunch of these tiny black bugs on them (picture above). They don't seem to be doing any harm for now.

Zucchini

I don't know what this is (due to my hasty planting without labeling) but it's doing really well and about to grow something, can't wait to see what it will be!

Celery

Don't know what this is either : )

My green beans are probably doing the best of all. No signs of bugs at all and starting to grow lots of beans.
My carrots are getting eaten by worms. I had problems last year with radishes and I have heard of problems with beets and other underground things. I think I will skip anything that grows underground next year and just stick to above ground stuff.
I also highly recommend the copper tape for raised beds. I have not had even one slug this year! Happy Gardening!
