Last Day of Kindergarten

We have been looking forward to the last day of school for a while around our house. Madison loves school but she was ready for summer! I picked her up on her last day and took her out for some fun. I asked her what she wanted to do when I picked her up and she said she wanted to go to Target and "get a little something". I said, "why not!" Here she is in the parking lot. She picked a Barbie and some other little toy. I told her she had $10.00 she could spend and she found a Barbie for $5.99. We were leaving the toy department and I could tell she was thinking about something. She said..."you know, I could maybe find something else and still be under $10.00". Ha, she was right so we headed back.

After we left Target she really wanted to go to Rocket Donuts for a treat.

Yum!

Madison won one of the two awards for turning in the most Box Tops for June. She got a $10.00 Barnes and Noble gift card for winning. After she ate her donut she wanted to go spend so that is where we headed. She picked an early reader and a color the numbers book.

Even though school has only been out less than a week we have been having so much fun. We have been spending lots of time (per Madison's request) working on her workbooks, learning how to tell time and learning more about money. I feel we finally have some time for all of the things we never got to all year. The school days were so rushed to get the kids bathed, fed and ready for bed at a decent time that there never seemed time for much else. Already we've had a couple of playdates, a day at Boulveard/Fairhaven, a church party, a birthday party, and our first-ever sleep over! This is going to be great summer, I can just feel it!
