The girls were set to start soccer this afternoon but I called to withdraw them. For three weeks their soccer would have overlapped with swimming AND school and I just realized it would have been too much. We would have gone right from school to swimming and right from swimming to soccer while scarfing down a sandwich in the car on the way. I know people do this sort of thing and make it work but it just didn't seem right for us, even if only for a few weeks. The girls get so tired after swimming lessons already so I think it would have been a disaster waiting to happen. I am excited for the girls to try out different things and find what they truly love but we'll have time. We'll try again for fall soccer.
Eric was out of town last week from early Thursday morning until Saturday night. His new job is just not offering many hours yet. We are still hopeful but it's a very slow waiting process in hopes of the work to be ready. So, he went to Wenatchee to help my dad out with some stuff. The girls and I had a nice week and kept busy with school, walks, swimming and a play date.
Yesterday, at our family meeting, we introduced allowances to the girls. This was very exciting for all of us. I'm anxious to teach the girls a little bit about finances and they are very excited to have some control and say in what they want/need and can buy.
There are still 14 days of school left in the year. The strike set us back and our district is going later than other districts. It's been a long year and I'm ready for summer and a break from it all. Without soccer it will free up some of our summer break which is good news too. I knew we were overbooked but just didn't know what would make the cut and what wouldn't. I'm excited for Madison to start tennis and see how she likes it. The last few weeks of the year will be busy. There is still another field trip, a couple of half days, a couple of awards assemblies and kindergarten graduation. Madison has worked so hard this year and come so far. I am excited for her to enjoy the last few weeks, have some fun and enjoy her accomplishments.

that was probably a good call, soccer sounds like it would have been to much.
