So Behind

I'm getting further and further behind on my blog. Actually, I'm not sure if I'm technically getting behind because I have been so bad about taking pictures of our various summer activities that they likely won't make it into their own post anyway. Since they likely won't end up here I'll recap the past few weeks....
Madison finished her tennis lessons today. We absolutely LOVED them! The place was great, the instructors were great and she really loves the sport. Problem is that it's all the way in Fairhaven and I don't see how we can logistically make this work on a routine basis. A big surprise from tennis lessons was Kennedy! She was too young to start lessons (although will be old enough in 2 weeks) but she played by herself on the other end of the court by herself or with other kids and she is REALLY GOOD! I kept thinking it was a fluke but she kept doing it. Maybe I'm just a biased mom but that girl just might be a tennis player! She really wants to take lessons, problem there is she also wants to take soccer, basketball, dance, gymnastics and karate. I'm sure I'm missing a few in that list. This girl is all over life and ready to dive in head first!
Speaking of head first, the girls are 3 days into their 10 day swimming lessons. They love it. The weather has not been great but I'm hoping next week warms up a bit for them. I thought I was safe to enroll them at the end of July but I momentarily forgot which part of the country we lived in.
The next months is packed full of more swimming lessons, an art camp for Madison and a gymnastics camp for Kennedy, our last camping trip of the summer, a trip to Oregon to visit my mom, a couple of playdates and random appointments.
Last week the girls did a VBS at St. Joseph's Church. They loved it. It was really nice to have them just around the corner from the house and have them with some kids they knew already.
I went on a girls camping weekend last weekend. It was great, I had lots of fun. Again, the weather wasn't cooperating but it turns out the weather doesn't really matter on a girls weekend! I can't wait until next year.
That sums up the main points. Lots headed our way and we intend on enjoying our summer as fleeting as it will be. I have to admit I could use a few afternoons at home to play catch up and just read books with Madison. Now that tennis is over we'll have our afternoons free for just that.
Hope you all are enjoying your summer. I will get to those pictures one of these days.

Sounds like a great summer. How fun that your girls want to do all those activities.
