Thanksgiving

Since Madison was born over seven years ago I have never taken fewer pictures than I have the past month. Obviously, there is a reason (I felt like ass) but I didn't manage to get any pictures on Thanksgiving or of the girls decorating the gingerbread train. Bummer! I am determined to take pictures next weekend when we go Christmas Tree hunting.
On Thanksgiving some dear friends notified us they were coming over, bringing the food and that we were not, under any circumstances, allowed to clean in anyway. I usually have a hard time accepting generosities like this but it's been such a rough go lately that I happily accepted. It was so lovely, the kids all played well (for the most part) and the food was good. That was really the first day I had eaten some solid food. Except for one tiny, tiny bite I stayed away from the meat but I had some softer foods and some more substantial ones (stuffing). It all went down fairly well but my throat let me know that night that it got a workout. I am now eating solids again, finally. I'm not eating anything too hard but most foods are going down fine. I tried a walnut today just because it was sitting there and realized what a mistake that was.
I'm thankful for so many things this year but none more than a hopeful full recovery from this awful mess. I think I will have a scar where the doctor had to cauterize in the ER and I can't tell yet if it's going to affect food getting stuck or not. It seems to now but it's all still healing so we'll see.
I am blessed with such wonderful friends, what a beautiful thing they did and we are so grateful. My poor family would not have had much to eat that day if they had not come and saved the day!
