Making Myself Blog

I don't particularly feel like blogging when I'm really worried about something. Minor worries, complaints and frustrations are fair game but when something really bad is going on or I'm really worried I tend to not write it down, it's too fresh and too real I suppose. After things resolve it when those things usually find their way on my blog. Today I am making myself write a post though, despite being utterly worried about Kennedy. Maybe it will help sort my feelings out and be another form of telling myself there is nothing to worry about yet.
Kennedy's tummy aches are as bad as ever. I have not given her milk in weeks and that doesn't seem to help. Every single blood test, stool test, x-ray, physical exam has been normal. One of her kidney functions was a 43 (with a 40 being at the high end of "normal") but the doctor didn't see any red flags with that since she had a virus at the time and the fact that they can be in the high hundreds (maybe in even 1,000s). All of the allergies he tested for were negative. She also developed a new problem mid-week last week. She became unable to control her bladder. Every time she had to go she had sudden urgency and couldn't make it to the toilet. This happened all day long for 3 1/2 days despite us being home and right near the toilet. I took her back in to the doctor thinking it might be a UTI despite the fact that there was no pain but that was also negative. He ordered an ultrasound but I couldn't get an appointment until this Friday. I managed to keep calling until I could bump her appointment up some so we go in tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will know the results of that before the week is over. I'm really getting frustrated by all of the waiting. Our appointment at Children's isn't until the beginning of March. She had to have two blood draws already so I hesitate to go an alternate route just yet until we see what the ultrasound says. After that I will call Children's and see if I can squeeze my way into an earlier appointment but I don't know how much luck I'll have with that one.
So, here we are...a couple of months (or more) after she first had tummy aches with no answers. I'm hoping it's just some simple answer and nothing serious. In the meantime I still have her on a probiotic, mild laxative and as much cranberry juice as she will drink. She has done better with her bladder control the past few days. She is still having sudden urgency but has been able to make it on the toilet if we are close by one (which we have made a point to be). Here's hoping that was nothing more than some constipation pressing on her bladder and her tummy trouble cause is not serious and easily treated.
