Last Saturday I took the girls on the Lake Whatcom Railway Easter Train Ride. Eric was going to go with us but he worked instead. It was lots of fun and we went with some friends. Madison was very excited to go but when we started to board the train she got scared. It was a really old train and when we got in it was a small, dark area with a steep step and I could feel her body shaking. We made our way back to a seat and things got better although she was still a bit shook up. The train ride was good and she enjoyed it. We made our way to the coffee shop on the train and got a little snack which she enjoyed also but when we headed back to our seats everyone was standing up and waiting to get off (far too early) for the Easter egg hunt. We were stuck in the scariest par of the train, right in between cars where you could actually see the ground underneath you. Needless to say we timed that as badly as possible. We waited for a little bit after it stopped thinking we could go back to our seat, get our lunch and easter baskets, etc. After a very short time I realized we just needed to get off the train so we did. We didn't need our Easter baskets as all the big kids got all the eggs and we found only one. It was okay because the Easter bunny gave us another egg on the train. The picture above was the man who played the banjo on the train. It was lots of fun and everybody sang along.
