If you want it done right do it yourself!

My Mother's Day gift to myself was to hire someone to clean our house for a one time thing. Well, I corresponded with several people and had two people come and give me an estimate. I ended up hiring a licensed (at least she said she was) gal and she came today. I was absolutely stunned when I got home to see the condition of the house. It was absolutely filthy and you could tell she ran the vacuum through, swiped here and there with a rag and that was it! I know I'm picky when it comes to this stuff but she had a long list of things she said she would do and she didn't do even half of them. She said she was going to clean all the window tracks and as you can see in the pictures she did no such thing. She also said she would clean the microwave inside and out and she didn't. The top of the microwave is covered in dust as well as everything else in this house. I'm just stunned people actually try to make a living at something and this is how they conduct business. She responded to my email acting like she didn't know what I was talking about, I sent her some pictures and haven't heard back. I don't really expect to hear from her because it's hard to argue that you cleaned something when it's got dead flies in it. I will pursue this to some degree because it's become a matter of principle and at the very least I will do something on CraigsList which is where I found her and where she continues to post ads regularly. It's really hard to see much from most of these pictures and it's really much worse than you can see but I've posted some to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. This is rather embarrassing because it shows how dirty our house is but I'm so angry about this that I don't care at the moment. We didn't really have the money to do this but I thought it would be worth it to not have to worry about the inside of the house with all the outside stuff we are doing so that has made me even angrier. I was going to stop payment on the check but that was going to cost me $30.00 so I decided not to.

She said she wiped down the laundry room and all the shelves. This is a Borax spill that happened the other day, still there!

More dead critters - yes, I'm getting embarrassed now. This is why I needed some help, the house was dirty and getting out of control.

This is actually much worse than the pictures shows. It's right behind my computer monitor (very easy to see and reach), there is a huge dust bunny and a very crappy job at dusting my desk. There is at least half of the surface that wasn't dusted.

The stove was the worst. It's also very hard to see on here but it was filthy and she said she cleaned it twice and double checked it when done. I took a little cleaner (same stuff she used as she used our stuff - also saved her money there since I provided all the cleaner) and wiped a streak just to see and it got sparkly clean. I have no idea what the heck she thought she was doing?

Obviously I'm not going to be this pissed off and not tell everyone I know who it was.........CLEAN AS A WHISTLE - Teresa Sanders! Run, don't walk the other way if you are ever in the market for a house cleaner and you see her name!!!!
