Searching for a topic

The house is empty and I thought I would get a blog post in while I've got the house to myself. The problem is that I can't think of anything to write about. This usually isn't an issue for me as I seem to find 50 times during the day that I feel the need to post an update to FB (even though I try to limit myself on those). So, I'll just start typing and see what happens.
I have not changed the title of my blog again. I thought of a couple of other names but I didn't like any of them as well as this one. I think I'll keep this name until I can think of a few more and then maybe I'll put a poll on here. I have grand ideas of the other blog but the more I think about it the more I realize I won't have time. I did think of a good name for it though (at least I liked it)...Desperate Housewife of the Unemployed. I have plenty of stuff to write about but I don't think I want to take on that endeavor, especially since I am blogging here more and about to start school. The last thing I need is my face in front of this computer more than it already is. I'll put those plans on hold and possibly someday put some of the stuff on here.
It was really fun to hang out with some friends last night at dinner that didn't have young kids like me. It's great to hear what they are doing and not just stories of sibling rivalry and potty training. I wouldn't trade my life for anything but an escape is always so nice. An interesting topic came up. I have said this many times myself to people I know as well. We live in a very interesting bubble (or pocket) of our country up here in Whatcom County. It seems there is a deep interest and concern for our environment here that is not shared all over the country (or even over the mountains). There is also an interesting niche of parenting up here as well. It doesn't surprise us as much since we live here but when I see things on FB from my friends in Eastern Washington I realize how different our two worlds are. I really saw a difference when we went camping at Lincoln Rock several weeks ago. People just don't recycle. Of course I see this here too but people just don't have a conscience about the environment everywhere. It can be frustrating when we live in a community that seems to align with our own on some things and then experience other places that are so different. We can delude ourselves into thinking this is the way people live/behave but that isn't true a lot of the time. I'm not really going anywhere with this...just an interesting topic.
