Citizenship Award

During my parent teacher conference with Madison's teacher she told me that Madison was getting the Citizenship Award for her class. I was so excited for her. It was all I could do not to tell her and ruin the surprise. She got up in front of the entire school to collect her award and stood up there holding it alongside all of the other students who got that award in their own classes. I could tell she was a little bit nervous but she didn't let that hold her back.

The award is for excellence in treating people respectfully, taking school seriously and following the rules. She was so proud of herself and I was so proud of her. The lengths this girl has come since the beginning of the school year are almost unbelievable, unless you are my Madison.

I bought her a special frame to hang her award. It's hanging prominently in her bedroom.

She also received two other awards in her classroom. One is the No "Oops!" Slips award for not getting any warnings so far this school year.

The other award was for Excellent Attendance for not missing any school yet this year. What a great day this was celebrating the accomplishments of her hard work this school year. Way to go Madison!!

Congratulations to Madison! I love that you framed it; that's got to make it even more special for her!
