Christmas is getting close. This weekend we got closer to getting ready for Christmas. All my shopping is done, all my baking is done, all my Christmas packages are packed and ready to go to the post office tomorrow and all my holiday parties are over. I still have presents to wrap for Eric and the girls but that's about it. Madison has a Christmas program at school tomorrow so I'm really looking forward to that. This is her last week of school before the New Year. I'm really excited for Christmas and I'm really excited that I won't be scrambling right up until the 25th trying to get everything done. Eric hasn't put the lights on the house yet but is planning to next weekend. It's a little late but that's okay.
Our weekend was fun but pretty uneventful. Eric had Friday off so I ran errands all morning and then we babysat some of Madison's friends while their parents could go see a movie. We had lots of fun building forts, doing crafts and being silly. On Saturday I had a baby shower to attend and Madison went with me. She was very excited and felt like such a big girl attending the shower. She couldn't have been better and was such a little lady. In the afternoon we went to church and then headed to the mall to get a couple of last minute things. While there we checked out the SmartPhones since I am desperately wanting one. I was so close to buying the new Blackberry Storm but decided to think more about it. It's a good thing because it's way too expensive for us right now. I still haven't decided what to do but I might go with a less expensive phone that has email and internet capabilities. The monthly plans are not all that unreasonable. We'll see, I don't like my cell phone at all so it would be nice to upgrade.
Today we stuck pretty close to home. I baked cookies for Madison's program tomorrow and got all the packages ready for mailing. We discovered there was something wrong with our vacuum today as Eric tried to turn it off and it was stuck on despite turning it off. He and the girls took it straight to Costco (where we bought it) and got a new one. I can't say enough about buying more expensive items at Costco. They will take anything back! We've had this vacuum for quite a while and actually got it after our original one from there broke (after having it for a long time as well). So, now we have a brand new vacuum and it didn't cost us anything. It is not a bagless like the one we have but I have heard bag vacuums are better anyway so I don't really care.
We got some snow last night and have had lots of wind for a couple of days now. I wish we had gotten more snow but I won't complain since we finally got a little. Hope we get some more soon. I'm loving the holiday season and looking forward to Christmas.
Kennedy has a cold and isn't feeling well so that is our one frustration this weekend. I hate when she isn't feeling well and there really isn't anything I can do about it. She's congested and wanting held ALL the time (not really out of the norm for her though). Hopefully she will be feeling better soon.
Hope you are all getting ready for the upcoming holiday and taking some time to enjoy the season and the weather.
Love and Hugs from us to you!
