Waiting for the storm.....

Madison and "Baby Frosty"

"I'm COLD"

This is fun!

We are supposed to get quite a storm rolling in this evening and tomorrow. You would not believe all the people at Fred Meyer today. It was ridiculous. There were no parking spaces in the parking lot, no shopping carts in the store, all the check out lines were open but the lines went way down the aisles. We were in there forever it seemed. I don't like things so crowded so I was anxious to get out of there but the line would only move so fast. We managed but it was really incredible to see everyone preparing for the storm we are supposed to get. I wonder when it will show up as I've been anxiously awaiting it all day. I do hope our power stays on though, brrrr!

We also returned our spider tree today for a refund. They were nice and it was no problem but I'm so glad to be rid of it!

Eric and the girls were gone all day long yesterday doing some errands and Christmas shopping. It was nice to have the house to myself but I didn't get much accomplished except wrapping Christmas presents and some laundry. I didn't realize they were going to be gone so long but they ran into some similar "traffic" areas like the mall which was apparently crazy in the parking lot with cars backed up.
Eric tried to build a snowman with the girls today but they didn't last very long. Kennedy didn't like getting all bundled up in her boots, snow pants, coat, hat, etc. We thought she would like it once she was out there but she started crying to come in after only a few minutes. Madison lasted a little longer but got cold soon so she came in as well. They built a tiny snowman and she named it "Baby Frosty". The snow is so dry it doesn't hold together so it just kept blowing away and not packing. Maybe they will have some better snow to try again by tomorrow.

Tomorrow we plan to stay home and build a gingerbread house. We got a kit from Fred Meyer a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time to do it yet. Tomorrow will be the perfect day. I also got some of the Bellewoods Apple Cider I have been wanting and it's SO good. I'm looking forward to drinking that tomorrow while we put together the gingerbread house and watch the storm outside. We also missed church today for the first week since mid September so I'm disappointed by that. If the roads are bad we won't be going tomorrow so I guess I'll listen to it online.

Well, I'm just killing time here while I've got some quiet and Eric is giving the girls a bath so I better go and do something a little more productive....like get on facebook or something.

Hope you all have a toasty warm evening and don't have to go out and drive in the snow tomorrow. Stay safe and warm.
