My Baby

In March Kennedy broker her clavicle. We had our first sunny day and it was so gorgeous I told Eric it was a great day to hang the swings on the swing set. Shortly afterwards I walked down to get Madison from school and she hopped on as soon as she got home. She was swinging SO high and when Kennedy got off her swing she walked right behind Madison's swing and BAM! She hit the ground...started to get up and BAM again! It all happened so fast and she was crying in a way I had never heard her cry. She was in a lot of pain and it went on for about an hour so I decided to take her to the ER. We were there a few hours (thank goodness we came when we did because when we left the ER waiting room was packed). I hesitated to get x-rays because there really wasn't anything they could do about it even if it was broken so we left with orders for ibuprofen. After a couple of days she was still in a lot of discomfort so I took her back to the doctor. They really wanted her to get x-rays because there was a chance it was broken at the end of the bone where they could need to pin it. X-rays showed a break for sure, right in half. It was actually a beautiful break right in the middle and has since healed and she is back to new. The doctor gave her this sling which she refused to wear. She indulged me for about 30 seconds to take the picture above and never wore it again. I wish she would have because nobody would have ever guessed her arm was broken, she didn't slow down a bit. This is one brave and tough cookie!
