Oregon Vacation

The girls and I had a four day trip to Oregon to visit Grandma. We met halfway just outside of Portland in Tigard. My girls absolutely love staying in hotels and it didn't take them long to make themselves comfortable. This is Kennedy trying to hide from me.

Checking out the accommodations.

A hotel pool was a must-have. The girls had so much fun swimming with Grandma every night. I think they would have been content hanging out at the pool for four straight days and never leaving...well, except to have the continental breakfast.

It really meant a lot to me to see the girls having so much fun on this trip. It occurred to me that, not only, did the girls deserve a trip but that they needed it. They had a great time, we all did!
Kennedy is a natural. She couldn't get enough of kicking her legs and paddling her arms. I have got to get her in a swimming class soon.
We had planned a trip to the zoo on our first full day but our plans were thwarted by enormous crowds. We happened to be there on a day that was a discounted day, the only one per month and there were thousands of people just at the zoo shuttle area alone. We realized our experience would not be worth the money we would save and we left. We had to make it up to the girls so we took them to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. They had a great time.
Kennedy chases Chuck E. Cheese all the way through the place as he was trying to go off duty. He saw her and motioned that he was going to sleep. This was absolutely adorable, she told him "night, night" and gave him a hug.
Look out, K is behind the wheel.
Madison loved this ride. It went way up in the sky as she peddled.
The kids enjoyed their time here but the tokens ran out so it was time to move on.
Since we now had some more time in our day and no plans to speak of I got to make my way to downtown Portland to go to Powell's Bookstore. I was really hoping I could find the time to go there while we were in Oregon. The girls both fell asleep so my mom stayed in the car with them while I went inside. I could have stayed in there all day long. They had so many books, new and used. They had old books out of print, rare books and just anything you could ever want. I found Madison a Serendipity Book, I loved these when I was a kid. I also got her a copy of Charlotte's Web that I am going to give her for her birthday. I got Kennedy two books as well. I just loved that place and can't wait to go there again.
