HSM at WWU

About 6 or 7 weeks ago I saw that WWU was going to be doing a production of High School Musical. Madison loves these movies and she also loves the productions I have taken her to in the past so it was a no-brainer to get tickets to this event. We've been looking forward to it since I ordered the tickets even though she just knew it was some sort of surprise. It wasn't until we were there that she finally guessed what it was. She saw the playbill and recognized "High School Musical" on them. She was so excited! Eric and Kennedy dropped us off. Above is a picture just before we went in, Madison still didn't know what we were doing.

Despite the sign she didn't know here either. She was too excited to try and read anything and she just wanted to go in.

This is when she figured it out. The production was held in the underground theatre in the Performing Arts Center. It was a very small theatre, just under 60 seats total. The seats were general admission so we got there early not knowing how big the theatre was or what to expect so we waited in this room just outside the theatre until it was time to go in. We could hear them rehearse inside and it was pretty exciting.

We were literally ON the stage. There were three rows on each side of this stage of about 10 seats and we were in the front row. We were so close that I was worried several times that my feet were going to get stepped on. It was very cool to be so close to the performers. The show was fun and full of energy and Madison was mesmerized by it all.

During the 10 minute intermission she asked if we could come back again, she did the same thing when I took her to Annie a couple of months back. I love seeing her enjoy theatre so much and I look forward to taking her to many more productions.

When we got home we had fun listening to music from the movie and talking about all the fun we had.

A great day spent with my amazing daughter!
