Each year Home Depot has a special Kids Workshop dedicated to Nascar. They bring in the Home Depot Nascar racing car and have a special Nascar project. Eric has been looking forward to this particular day for months now.
Eric has been out of town a lot lately and this was a great day for the girls to spend some time with him and give me some much needed off-duty time. I went to my favorite coffee shop and took a few books along that I actually made a dent in. It was wonderful.
After they made their little Nascar they got to race it.
They got to build their projects in a big shed outside in the parking lot rather than inside, they had popcorn and juice and the kids all got a special autographed photo along with their usual completion pin.
Homer also made an appearance.
After this Eric took the girls to the tail end of the Old Settlers Grand Parade and down to the carnival at Pioneer Park for a couple of rides before picking me back up. A wonderful and much needed day had by all.
