Kennedy turned three years old on Tuesday. I'm not sure how it happened that my youngest is now three but it did, without my consent. I am so proud of her and all the growing, learning and loving she is doing but it's always bittersweet when your youngest (and last) is growing up too fast. It's really hitting me how quickly things are changing with them both going to school next year. I'm not sure I'm ready to let them go quite so much but I'll have to find that readiness and soon because it's fast approaching. I also realize any apprehension on my face will not be a good thing in front of the kids, especially Madison so I'm going to try and get to that point in my head as quickly as possible. They are amazing girls and I trust them so much, I know they are both ready for the next step.
Madison has been wanting a pair of scrubs so I got them both a pair. The ones Madison is wearing are Kennedy's so it kind of gave away the fact that she has a pair coming on her birthday too even though I didn't tell her. They do fit Kennedy despite fitting Madison too, I just have to roll the bottom up a little.
This is the princess dress Kennedy picked out at the Fairhaven Toy Garden a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully she forgot about it. I like this look...princess dress on top of swimming suite with bed head. It works.
On her birthday she was in charge! She got to pick whatever she wanted to do that day (within reason, of course). She had her morning swimming class after a bagel breakfast and the opening of the presents...
followed by "green ice-cream" at Colophon Cafe. After that we went to Village Books where they each got a couple of new books.
Then she wanted to go to Jump Around Fun Zone and we were there for more than 2 hours. We were all exhausted by this point so that was enough outings for one day. Back home we went.
Some dress up play time was in order. She had a great day and kept saying "I'm happy". It was such a fun day. Eric was out of town and couldn't be with her on her birthday but he called a couple of times and wished her a very happy day and it was!
