Random Updates

Kennedy missed her swimming class this morning because she woke up (FAR TOO EARLY) not feeling well. She is feeling fine now but these things have a way of returning so we'll see. Hopefully we won't have to miss anymore swimming classes and hopefully Madison doesn't get it (despite just having caught her drinking out of her sisters water bottle) and have to miss any of her classes next week. She'll only be doing five classes because next week is the short session. I am so excited to watch Madison take her first official swimming class since she was a baby.

Too add to the excitement of my blog I added a couple of pictures to my baby blanket post from the other night. I got rid of a few but kept most of them : )

I was up until after 2:00 a.m. last night cleaning out the bedroom. Not because it required that much time but because I kept taking computer breaks to look at possible girls weekend (or Jennifer weekend) rentals. I found a really cute little cabin on a pond and near a lake that is half the price of anything I can find up here but it's 3 1/2 hours away. I don't think I want to go that far and if nobody ends up going with me and I want the family to join me the 2nd night that wouldn't be an option. Stuff is just so expensive, especially if nobody is sharing the cost. I'll keep looking but hopefully I'll do it after the garage sale.

This is just a random birthday present tip but I've been doing it every year for a couple of years....at Halloween time the costumes are everywhere. They are cheaply made out of synthetic material and doused with flame retardant and barely last the night in many cases. I've been buying the girls really nice dress up clothes (princess dresses, doctor scrubs, etc.) for their birthdays and they can wear them for dress up time and also for Halloween. The quality is SO much better and they get much more use out of them. Not all kids would let you get away with this but my girls have birthdays close to Halloween so it's worked great for us. They do end up wearing the same costumes from year to year though, Madison is going to wear her nice Cinderella dress again this year that she got last year (or the doctor scrubs if she decides after she opens them for her birthday) and Kennedy is going to wear her new princess dress. I feel like I'm saving $50.00 by not having to buy Halloween costumes each year. Anyhoo....

back to cleaning out the house.
