Christmas Day

Christmas morning finally came. Here are the gifts from Santa. Madison only asked Santa for the movie A Dolphin Tale. He brought that, a Fur Real Puppy and a new water bottle. I don't really know what kinds of gifts Santa brings, this year Santa didn't bring anything too extravagant because the girls didn't ask for anything too extravagant. Maybe that will change. Kennedy got a Zhu Zhu Pet movie from Santa, and the same puppy and water bottle. They loved them!

Santa must have been hungry because he ate all of his cookies and milk. The carrot sticks were almost gone too, all 18 of them (2 for each...counted out meticulously).

Christmas morning before the chaos.

One of Madison's favorite presents. I took her to see this movie a few months ago and she loved it.

Kendy posing with her movie.

The stockings followed the Santa gifts. I think the Silly Putty was the hit of the stocking.

After stockings it was time to open the last advent door. In it there was a clue to finding their first present.

And they were off.....

Not on the counter....

Not on the stove....

Is it in the fridge?

Not in the cupboard...

They are looking in the fridge but it's sticking out from underneath that tub of parmesan cheese in the door. Quickly they found it.

On to find the next clue...

It's in the shower...

Clue #3

Looking for the 4th and final clue.

Found it!

Now off to find the gifts...

Yay!!

That is the look of excitement!

iPod and pink headphones. That is one happy girl!!

Kennedy got a cute little green pony.

I gave Madison my old iPod (which happens to be pink). I spent weeks before Christmas trying to find great songs to load on it for her.

Another exciting gift.

Kennedy loves brides!

This was a gift to Kennedy from Madison. This was Madison's and Kennedy always wants to play with it so she gave it to her. I thought it was so sweet!

A date to Katie's Cupcakes from Kennedy for her big sis!

A Zhu Zhu Pet from Madison for Kennedy.

Kennedy's bedroom is known as the "Monkey Room" because she has a monkey comforter. We have been looking for a cute monkey to go with her monkey room and I finally found a cute one.

Kennedy wanted a pink unicorn for Christmas. She got it in Pillow Pet form.

Her favorite gift by far. My little princess wanted to put this on instantly.

Super cute stuffed animals I found at Launching Success (also where I got K's princess dress). I love this monkey and owl.

Madison got a dolphin pillow pet to go along with her Dolphin Tale theme.

And there it is. Before daybreak on Christmas morning.

They both got a second Fur Real pet, here Kennedy is feeding her little Dalmatian Puppy.

Once these were on her ears they stayed on practically all day. The girls had fun playing with their stuff all day and as I watched the clock ticking by it made me wish it would slow down. There is so much anticipation for the big day and it was such a wonderful day that I didn't want it to end. It was a day of relaxing, of peace and of quiet reflection. We spent a lot of time during the day wishing Jesus a Happy Birthday and talking about what Christmas means.

Time for dinner. Dinner was simple. I didn't want to cook all day so we just did a boneless turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls, broccoli salad and sparkling cider.

Eric and I were in our pajamas all day long. I thought a couple of times how silly it was that we were in our pajamas while eating on our fine wedding china. That's just how we roll.

Like I said, she had these headphones on all day.

That's my dancing girl.

More dancing.

And more dancing. I loved seeing how much she loved this gift. I loved that I spent so much time finding just the right songs I thought she would love.

Kennedy had such a fun day too, here she is holding one of her gifts. This was, by far, my favorite Christmas ever. The girls are at such a fun age and can understand so much more about Christmas and enjoy the gift of giving. I loved watching them as their sister opened their gift. They were so proud. As the night drew to a close I looked at my family and felt so thankful for them. The spirit of Christmas is a feeling I don't want to lose as the calendar changes. I hope you all had a Christmas full of peace, family, and love!

What great memories, how fun to have the clues to find a gift. And what a fun idea to give your daughter a ipod loaded with songs. Love that.
