Crazy Busy Day

Today was a busy one. We had lots of errands to run. We packed up the kids and the dog and headed out just before lunch. We ran errands all day. My last errand was a trip to Fred Meyer so Kennedy and I dropped Madison and Eric off at Whatcom Community College to take Hailey for a walk and some playtime while we made our last stop. By the time we were done it was really raining outside so they got pretty wet. Hailey was having fun jumping up some sort of concrete wall and ended up with a pretty decent cut on one of her back paws. She was bleeding quite a bit by the time Kennedy and I got there. Being new pet owners we were fairly unsure what to do.
We had a birthday party to head to after we picked them up so we thought we would head to Lynden and then check to see how she was doing, if she was still bleeding one of us was going to take her home and try to bandage her up. By the time we got to the party she had stopped bleeding and seemed fine.
The birthday party was lots of fun. I didn't realize what a nice pool Lynden YMCA had, they had a really cool blow up obstacle course they put in for the birthday parties. Everyone had a great time.
Once we got home we washed her paw with some water/hydrogen peroxide, put some antibiotic ointment on it and bandaged it as best we could. I had to add some first aid supplies to my grocery list. Thank you YouTube for showing me how to do it : )
Hopefully she will leave it alone for tonight until I can get some self adhesive tape to put on it instead of the skinny white tape I had to use. I only had a little bit of gauze and used it up too. I've had these same first aid supplies forever and never needed them until the first week we got a dog.
We did get Hailey a dog bed today for when she wants to lay down during the day. She is sleeping in her crate but she has been trying to get on the beds and rest so we thought a dog bed might help. The blanket on the floor doesn't seem very appealing to her. We'll see if she likes it, we got her right in her crate after cleaning up her paw tonight so she would stay off of it.
Tomorrow holds a play date for Madison with a school friend. Eric and Kennedy might go do something for a bit while Madison and I do that. I'm going to make crock pot beef stew and try to tie up a few loose ends around here. I remembered why I don't like to blog every single day. BORING posts! I apologize if you are still reading : )
