Christmas Eve

I am not a huge fan of pictures of myself but I thought I should post the photo we had taken on Christmas Eve at church. It was such a nice background and the girls look cute!

After church on Christmas Eve the girls got to open their Christmas Eve gift. They know, now, that it is always a new pair of pajamas. They loved them!

"Bright and Merry"

The girls were having a hard time waiting to open gifts, the anticipation was almost more than they could stand.

Christmas Eve was incredibly low key for us. In fact, because we were at church that afternoon we just had a frozen lasagna for dinner with salad, carrots and bread. It was so good, I never knew how good that Costco lasagna was.

We had fun tracking Santa's progress on the computer and looking at the map to see how close he was getting. As he got closer and closer the girls were so worried that he would come while they were still awake.

After dinner Eric read The Nativity Story and we had cocoa, cookies and candles. It was a fun tradition to start.

Next year might be a little safer.

The girls were fascinated by the candles, it's not something we normally do but we are going to more often now.

Madison had cookies and milk all ready for Santa. She had carrots sticks ready for the reindeer and she had a shine in her eyes only the magic of Christmas can bring.
