Day Three with Hailey

I won't keep posting pictures of Hailey every day, they must be getting boring by now but I had to get one of her and Eric.

He is really bonding with her. He spent all day with her and walked her a couple of times. I'm too scared to walk her still until we take some obedience classes. She pulls on the leash but Eric said she is getting better.

I got to volunteer in Madison's class today. I was a regular fixture in her kindergarten class but her 1st grade year is so much different. I was out of commission so much with my surgery that I just haven't gotten to volunteer as much. In first grade they don't have the field trips and other fun activities either so it's just not the same. However, I had so much fun today but I do always notice how bored Madison gets. She is almost always one of the first ones done with her work (she sometimes rushes) and spends SO much time waiting. I did think it was great today when some of the kids finished that the teacher had them go around and see if any of the other kids needed help. That was right up her alley although I did see her just take the pencil out of a couple of kids' hands an write it for them. I got to go to the computer lab with them today and it was so much fun to have her show me all the fun stuff she does. I really like her teacher this year, I don't know her very well since I haven't been volunteering much but I love how good she is with the kids.

Life is readjusting after the break and the girls getting back to school but our routine is not back to normal. We now have a dog so we have to find a new normal and, unfortunately, Eric has not been working the past few weeks again and it's starting to worry us. He's making calls and seeing what other options he has but nothing is developing yet. Good wishes or prayers would be appreciated if that is your thing.
