I don't know what I would do without YouTube. I refer to YouTube for just about anything I have questions about. I'm a visual learner so seeing someone do something makes it so much more clear to me than reading instructions. I watched a lot of painting videos before we painted the girls' bedrooms and got so many great tips. I have been watching lots of Springer Spaniel videos to learn about the breed and I watch countless other videos whenever I want to see how to do something. Of course not every video for a given topic on YouTube is reliable but common sense can tell you which ones are good and which aren't. I thought I would post few that I have found helpful lately (and some I have just found fun).
How to give a dog a bath using Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap (and a great de-skunking recipe in the comments). I love Dr. Bronner's Soap and can't wait to try this one. By the way, we can bathe Hailey every 1-2 weeks if we want, yippee! She has already been smelling much better. We kept her out of the mud for a couple of days when it was raining a lot and stuck to walks instead. Oh, Hailey LOVES baths. She was just as calm as the dog in this video.

What could be easier than cutting strips of fleece for scarves? Well, not much but, like I said, I like to watch it being done. These made fun, easy, handmade teacher gifts this year.

How to play Mancala - I had never played it but we got it for a gift last Christmas and didn't know how to play. It was much easier to watch how to play than figure out those directions.

When Madison was asking a lot of questions about birth we watched countless animal births. I love the guy saying, "what the heck is that?" and, what sounds like a kid answering, "the placenta!"

This is a short tutorial on how to use Pinterest. Pinterest is something I know will occupy far too much of my time so I have only spent a few minutes on there to start my account and follow a few people. There are so many great ideas on there, I'm sure I'll find a) some really fun stuff to do or 2) some really fun stuff I want to do but can't find the time for.

Lastly, here is a video of Kid Rock's Wasting Time because that is what I have been doing as I write this blog post. The first video is bad quality but you get to look at him. Second one is better audio but just a still pic. The purpose of my post is to convince you and myself that YouTube is helpful and a "Visual Life Instruction Manual" but, in reality, it's a time waster!...a fun, sometimes educational, time waster.
